East Coast Grid Spatial Study
Project Overview:

East Coast Grid Spatial Study
Status: Complete
Start Date: August 2020
Lead Organisation: The Crown Estate, National Grid ESO, National Grid ET, Marine Mammal Organisation
This project aimed to consider how spatial context influences the way in which offshore wind farms connect to the electricity transmission system along the east coast of England. Specifically, it considered whether coordinated or integrated grid connection solutions could mitigate some of the spatial risks that radial connections face in the region (e.g. in terms of reduced landfall requirements).
