Bio:
Hi, I’m Sharon and I’ve been working in digital for over 20 years, I’ve also dabbled as a personal trainer in my time! I love dogs (I own 2 Finnish Lapphunds) and have been lucky enough to go sailing in some of the most beautiful places on earth.
Favourite hobbies:
Dog walking, cycling and the gym
Favourite marine creature:
Sea Turtle
Party trick: I can fold a crisp packet down into a perfect triangle – no question!
2 truths & a lie:
I rowed 22 miles up the Thames in a gig boat, I auditioned for a theatre show, I have been on concorde

I have been working as a Digital Project Director for almost 2 years now and have many years of experience as a digital project manager, working for various agencies around London as well as client side.

Responsibilities:
I manage a team of 2 project managers and oversee our managed services offer where we continuously improve our client websites after launch. I am also hands on with delivery and manage a variety of projects. I ensure that our clients get what they need and that we always work on tasks that bring the most value to the end user and ultimately our clients.
Why did you choose this career?:
I figured that a career in digital was a no brainer after I left school and after starting out in web development after I left university, I naturally transitioned into project management and heading up teams because at the end of the day, I’m a people person!
What do you love about your job?:
The variety of work, how digital constantly changes, keeping you on your toes and of course working on delivering The Marine Data Exchange and continuously improving it. It’s been so amazing to be part of such a fantastic project.
What do you find challenging about your work?:
Only how busy we usually are but then I thrive on that!

Advise to someone looking to move into the marine/digital/design sector:
Digital is a fast changing landscape, ensure you keep on top of what’s going on and brush up on your skills. It’s such a fun area to work and with lots of cool people to learn from, I highly recommend!
