 Author: Cefas Report number: R453 Active steps must be taken when reviewing licence applications to dredge in harbours or to extract marine aggregates, in order to avoid treating them as single activities undertaken in isolation. This project addressed the evaluation of dredging applications in respect of their impact on commercial fisheries and fish resources, and proposed a standard procedure for the assessment of the likely impacts of dredging. Such an approach will ensure that from year to year, and throughout UK coastal waters, a standardised approach is adopted for licence
