Description

Centrica commisionned ECON/ RPS to conduct thi pre-construction monitoring at the Lincs offshore wind farm site over a study area covering the site (plus a 1 km buffer) and adjacent control area of similar size and transect length. A total of 41 boat-based surveys were carried out from December 2007 until November 2010 inclusive. The main focus of this report was to use the data collected during boat-based surveys to establish a baseline against which any future changes during construction and operation can be measured. This data was used to identify which species were most likely to be affected by any changes on site during construction and operation. In addition, the species composition of the site and control were compared and the suitability of the control was discussed. The results of the 15 aerial surveys conducted over the wider area between 2005 and 2007 outside the ‘pre-construction’ period were also summarised and briefly discussed as the full aerial survey programme in the Greater Wash has not been previously reported in relation to the Lincs/
