2004-2005, Hayes Mckenzie, Ormonde, Noise Impact Assessment

An assessment of the noise impact from the Ormonde wind farm upon the surrounding areas with particular attention to the potential effects upon neighbouring properties. This assessment is to take account of operational noise when the wind farm is commissioned and noise associated with the construction of the wind farm. Results indicated that predicted noise levels would meet regulatory thresholds, with wind and gas turbine platform noise expected to be inaudible or not cause unacceptable disturbance to nearby dwellings. Temporary construction activities may generate more audible noise but are not anticipated to result in significant impacts. The assessment concluded with recommendations for ongoing compliance with recognized national and international standards and continued monitoring to ensure minimal noise impact on local communities.
